About domain name registration
If you do not already own a domain name you will need to register one for your website.
ThinkSales can register a domain name on your behalf. We will need to know your name, your business name, business contact details, ABN, RBN or ACN and the name you would like to register.
The name you register should be your business name, an abreviation of your business name or a name that is associated with your business or the products or services you provide.
If you already own a domain name.
You can either arrange to have your domain name directed to your ThinkSales web site or we can arrange to transfer it for you free of charge.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is a name that identifies one or more IP addresses. Domin names are used as part of URLs (web page addresses) and email addresses.
For example, in the URL http://www.thinksales.com.au/domains.php or in the email address info@thinksales.com.au the thinksales.com.au part is the domain name. The .com part of the address indicates that it is a commercial business domain name and the .au is the country code, in this case indicating it is an Australian business.
For all intents and purposes your domain name could be considered to be your business address on the Internet.
Not having a domain name is a bit like buying a phone but not having a phone number.
How much is domain name registration?
Registration of an Australian domain name (.com.au, .net.au or .org.au) is $77.00 for two years including GST.
